B-Splint Short Term

The b-Splint is used for rapid harmonisation of occlusal muscular disorders and can be constructed as an upper or lower appliance. The posterior teeth can be fully covered, providing additional retention to the appliance and preventing supra eruption of the posteriors.

The lower splint has a flat bite plane along the central incisal region and the upper has an anterior platform over the central incisors thus resulting in no posterior contact. This provides a smooth transition into excursive movements and consequently muscle activity is reduced.

    • Prevent posterior teeth from touching.
    • Reduce elevator muscle activity
    • Restorations are protected from damage caused by on-going parafunction.
