John started as an apprentice in 1959 at Bristol Dental Hospital, qualifying in 1964 as a Dental Technician. John worked at Bristol Dental Hospital and for a local dentist, before setting up HDL in 1968. John has successfully grown HDL throughout the past 35 years, and is still fully active in both the running of the lab and the production of the appliances. John enjoys his regular sessions at the gym and long walks with the Ramblers, exploring the landscapes of the UK and abroad.
